ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East is getting prepared for Christmas.

It’s not just a coincidence that ServiceMaster Clean North East Business Owner Chris Blewitt is growing a beard. Yes, it’s that time of year, when preparations are made to reward the hard-working cleaning elves of the North East and to make donations to some worthwhile local causes.

At ServiceMaster Clean Contact Services, people are at the heart of what we do. That’s why we endeavour to give back to our local communities as much as we can.

Our team members up and down the country work hard to give back and provide value to our communities. Whether this is in the work we do cleaning schools, and medical facilities, or giving back through charity endeavours.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Chris and the North East team will be donating to a number of worthy causes like the Durham and Sunderland Food Bank. They will also be joining our head office teams in donating to their local Salvation Army branch, as well as some local care homes.

How Chris Blewitt of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East are supporting the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Business owners Chris and Sue Blewitt from ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East recently attended a charity ball at The Hilton, Gateshead.

The event was to raise funds for one of their favourite charities: The Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (or GNAAS) brings pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year.

However, despite doing such vital work, they are not NHS-funded.

So, Chris and Sue joined 17 friends and neighbours to support this worthy cause for an enjoyable evening.

Over £50,000 was raised on the night for the service, which operates right across the region where ServiceMaster North East operates.

This money will go a long way in ensuring the staff and patients of this worthy charity get the money and support they need to carry on through these uncertain times.

Following a string of accredited business awards, Siva Kugathas of ServiceMaster AAA has been appointed a judge of this year’s Best in Business award.

If you follow our blog posts here at ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services, you will know the name Siva Kugathas. Upon joining our network in 2017, Siva worked hard to improve many areas of ServiceMaster Clean Guildford, his first territory to greatly amplify its success in a short period. Since then, Siva has grown his business, ServiceMaster Clean AAA to cover 13 territories across the UK, and won multiple highly coveted business awards in his five years as a franchisee.

Last year, in 2021, this included two Best Business Awards for International Brilliance Business Leader of the Year and SME Business Person of the Year awards, for his outstanding business sense, commitment, charity work and philanthropy, and leadership and development skills. This year Siva returns to the Best Business Awards, but not as a competitor. No, this year Siva will be joining a panel of over 20 independent business experts to judge the awards.

This is no mean feat! Siva and his fellow judges will have to choose from the best of the best in business across a wide range of categories assessing the different areas and skills that it takes to be the best in business, including:

  • Growth
  • Brand Development
  • Business Transformation
  • Community Engagement
  • Innovation
  • Marketing

And many more.

The deadline for awards entries is 31st October 2022, with the winners set to be announced this December, so there is still time to enter your business into this prestigious arena.

A key element of Siva’s model for success is building relationships within his communities, and his upcoming role as a Best Business awards judge is a testament to the value of building such relationships. By taking part in the awards last year, Siva will now be able to pay his success forward and play a part in rewarding the success of other UK businesses.

“I feel really excited,” he says. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the judging panel and being able to use my expertise running a successful business to contribute to supporting the community of companies that are applying for Best Business Awards.”

The best way to clean your warehouse

Our industry insider tips for keeping your warehouse clean and sanitary.

For those who manage a warehouse facility, it can be difficult to keep up with proper cleaning when there is so much to keep track of. However, there are myriad reasons why a clean warehouse should be your top priority. Not only will keeping a clean warehouse keep workers healthy and happy, but it also ensures the quality of your products is unaffected by potential contamination from harmful bacteria and germs – something to be particularly mindful of even now as new variants of COVID-19 are again seeing a rise in infections and deaths in the UK. If staying on top of warehouse sanitation is too much of a burden on you and your workers, regular visits from a commercial cleaning service like ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services can help. To ensure that your warehouse facility is being properly cleaned on a routine basis, we’ve put together a Sanitation Checklist that can be used for daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and biannually warehouse upkeep.

Why is Warehouse Cleaning Essential?

While warehouses are often used to store items or products before they get shipped out, keeping them clean is critical. Proper cleaning will protect products from gathering dirt and dust, and the potential of bacteria, mould, and mildew growth in case of a leak. Routine cleaning keeps your products safe and protects your workers from bacteria, viruses, and other potential health hazards by ensuring that surfaces are properly disinfected using a hands-on application of disinfection products.

Irregular maintenance can also impact daily workflow, leaving you with less productive workers and a dirty facility. On the other hand, having a clean space to work helps boost productivity, keeps employees safe, and can lead to higher job satisfaction across the board. Make sure that your employees know how to efficiently clean their workspace. Alternatively, you could also call on the cleaning experts who can do the cleaning for you all while addressing your unique needs with the know-how needed for your specific industry.

Tips to Keep Your Warehouse Clean

  • Have a plan. Don’t let cleaning hinder the productivity of a warehouse and add it into the workflow instead. Cleaning without a plan will not address the unique cleaning needs of your warehouse and may give you a false sense of confidence that your property is clean. Knowing what areas to clean and how to do so is key.
  • Make sure cleaning supplies are always stocked. Even if you outsource the deep cleaning to the professionals, cleaning supplies like mops, brooms, etc, should always be available. This will be helpful to clean up manageable messes as they happen.
  • Have your employees be responsible for their “areas.” Assigning areas for employees to clean can help everyone stay accountable. Give them a list to check off their cleaning tasks, along with a spot to initial and date/time. For example, if your employee uses two types of heavy equipment throughout the day, have them be responsible for cleaning the machines.
  • Ensure employees know when they should report issues. All warehouse workers should know when and whom to go to when there are spills, hazards, and other conditions that need to be reported immediately. If hazardous messes aren’t taken care of right away, they can cause potential health issues for workers, affect products and even cause a loss in revenue.

Our Warehouse Cleaning Checklist

So how should you clean your warehouse? Separating lists for different tasks will help to maintain a clean and safe environment. While you most likely take the rubbish out every day, you probably don’t rotate products and clean behind the shelves daily. Having separate lists for different tasks will help you stay organised.

A daily warehouse sanitation checklist could include:

  • Sweep and mop the warehouse floor.
  • Take out the bins and recycle waste in toilets and washrooms, kitchens, and areas where products are unpackaged.
  • Clean employee toilets.
  • Wipe down all heavily trafficked areas like countertops, machinery, and doorknobs.
  • Wipe down all heavily used equipment, like forklifts.

Note: It’s also advisable to implement a “clean as you go” rule for warehouse workers to take care of new messes as they happen.

A monthly warehouse sanitation checklist could include:

  • Inspect floors throughout the warehouse.
  • Pull pallets and rotate products on shelves.
  • Clean breakroom fridges and throw away expired or uneaten food.
  • Check for leaks, mould, and mildew.
  • Wipe down windows and dust/clean blinds.
  • Clean under units and shelving.
  • Power wash walkways, steps, and landing docs.

A manager or worker in a warehouse should be able to quickly create these checklists, and more tasks can be added as the routine cleaning process is implemented.

Need a hand cleaning your commercial property?

A cleaning company boss with clients all over the North East of England has won a major industry award.

Chris Blewitt, the owner of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East, impressed the judges to take the Great British Franchisee Award, placing him among the industry’s elite.

Chris’ Story

Starting with just an empty office and no staff – but following the proven business methods developed over years by ServiceMaster – Chris has turned his franchise into a thriving office and commercial cleaning business with a million-pound turnover and 124 employees.

Unusually in the world of franchising, Chris expanded his operation not by buying an additional franchise territory but by taking over another related business, that had plateaued.

Chris drew on his years of experience in running factories and supply chains and transformed the acquisition into a profitable part of his own franchised business.

“The business was nearly twice the size of mine but not very profitable, with a lot of low contract prices,” Chris recalls.

“It allowed me to operate not only in Durham and Teesside but right across the North East region.

“We have just had our record month, turning over £109,000, and we’re only a short way into our franchising journey!”

Accolades

He’s distinguished himself as part of the ServiceMaster network, too, picking up the title of Rookie of the Year in 2019 and the Award of Excellence in 2021.

Chris said ‘’I am delighted to pick up this distinguished award on behalf of the team. Not only does this acknowledge excellence in our own industry but across all sectors of franchise business.

Our story, in just over 4 years, is a testament that, with a lot of hard work, franchising really does work and you can build a sizeable, professional service business’’.

Cleaning student accommodation

How ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services can help you clean up student accommodation.

There’s a lot to think about when leaving university. Students can be unsure of their next steps, where they’re going to live next, and whether they’ll secure a job after graduation. And without parents around to clean up after them, they can also create quite a mess. It’s no wonder then, that sometimes they are happy to cut their losses and leave their rented accommodation in a state. Research conducted by EstateAgentToday suggests that “students are twice as likely as other tenants to have part of their deposit retained, with 22%, or one in five, not receiving the full amount when they leave their accommodation.”

Unfortunately, this leaves any mess they leave behind in the hands of you, the letting agent. And with other things to attend to, we know your time is better spent than cleaning up after students. Thankfully, with a deep clean from ServiceMaster Clean, you don’t have to.

With over 60 years as a leading brand in the commercial cleaning industry, we are trusted by a highly varied range of clients across the nation who trust our bespoke and professional contract cleaning service. This experience uniquely places us to work closely in partnership with housing associations and letting agents throughout the United Kingdom. By consulting with your nearest ServiceMaster Clean business, you can receive a tailored plan to suit you, whether with our deep clean and sanitation service after tenants have moved on or a regular clean of communal areas like washrooms and kitchens throughout the academic year.

By staying up to date on the newest technology like SaniMaster 6, which is regularly used in hospitals, food preparation areas, and schools as an excellent sanitisation and decontamination product. Our expert teams of technicians are continuously trained to meet any changing hygiene standards and have been working hard to keep all of our clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic ensuring they, and all of our equipment meet the Emerging Pathogen Standard. So, whether it’s COVID-19 or ‘Fresher’s Flu’, the risk of infection is greatly reduced for your tenants.

If you are a student or non-student accommodation letting agent in need of a contract cleaning provider, find your local ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services business to book a consultation with one of our teams today.

ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Newbury has won the North Star Invest award at this year’s ‘ServiceMaster Live!’ event.

This May, our long-anticipated ServiceMaster Live event, which is a gathering of franchisees from across the ServiceMaster UK brand family – saw franchisees and their teams recognised for their hard work in customer service, sales, and marketing efforts, resilience, growth and more over the past year. The awards ceremony, which took place at the close of a jam-packed day full of connections, networking and inspiring presentations, saw ServiceMaster Clean Newbury win the highly coveted North Star Invest award for investments in their business and the local community.

ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Newbury was owned and managed by Nick Dee Shapland for 30 years, during which time he established a growing community of staff and clients who relied upon and delivered his trademark professional and bespoke contract cleaning services. Originally, ServiceMaster Clean Newbury solely provided commercial cleaning services in the Newbury area, but over their three decades of business, their territory has grown to cover not only Reading & Newbury but North Hampshire, Swindon, Newbury, Oxfordshire and much of Gloucestershire. This is a truly impressive size for a franchise business, and they are equipped to reflect this. With a fleet of over 60 vehicles and a staff of over 350 people!

After Nick retired in 2021, he transferred ownership of his business to his employees in an Employee Ownership Trust. And, as Nick said back in 2021, this move enabled him to “place the future of the business in the hands of the people who have helped it grow over the last 10 years”

Now that team has achieved new heights for their investment by continuing to show their involvement in their community through brilliant work with multiple charities in the Newbury area – and earning them the coveted North Star Invest Award. The Newbury team endeavour to support three main charities we support each year. This year, this has been Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), through staff completing the London Bridge walk in June, Macmillan coffee mornings, and Children in Need. Last year, the team raised over £1500 for their charities, and hope to exceed this effort this year through events like the London Bridge Walk and team donations.

At its heart, ServiceMaster Clean Newbury is about community, and Victoria Tayler, Marketing Manager for ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services says that this made them the clear choice as the winners of the North Star Invest award this year. “This is a fantastic award to achieve, it is so pleasing to see one of our businesses giving so much back to their community, she says.

“It is easy as a business owner to get bogged down with the day-to-day stuff but the giving back is so valuable to those to whom they have contributed. This really embodies the ServiceMaster ethos of going Above and Beyond.”

Jane Paisley, on behalf of EOT and the Newbury team, says, “We were very proud to receive the North Star Investment award for 2021! We moved to an Employment ownership Trust in June 2021 and as a company, we have always tried to help and support local events and help the community and if staff have asked for support for their local schools or fund-raising activities.

Our new aim is to continue to support our three main charities CRY, Macmillan and Children in need and then support local charities and fundraising in Newbury but, we would also like to reach out further to our surrounding areas and we have asked [our] staff if there are any charities or events to which they belong to that we can support.   We feel it is important to show support where we can to staff and the local community to which they are also involved, it makes staff feel proud to be part of the ServiceMaster brand.”

If you are in Reading & Newbury, North Hampshire, Swindon, Newbury, Oxfordshire or Gloucestershire and would like to book a free quote for professional and bespoke contract cleaning services from an expert team with over 30 years of industry experience, get in touch with the ServiceMaster Clean Newbury by calling 01635 38100 today.

The owners of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Warwick, Michal Kawerski and Dariusz Kowalik have won the prestigious Rookie of the Year award at this year’s ‘ServiceMaster Live’ event.

ServiceMaster Live, which took place this May, is an annual gathering of franchisees from across the ServiceMaster UK brand family. This has been the first time the conference has been able to run since 2019 due to the limitations to public gatherings brought in to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Now finally together again, the event saw franchisees and their teams recognised for their hard work in overall customer service, sales, marketing efforts, resilience in the face of hardships, charity and community work and more, in an awards ceremony at the close of the day. It was a first-time win for Michal and Dariusz from ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Warwick, who began their business during the pandemic and amidst lockdowns in August of 2020. Despite the challenges that came with starting a business in such difficult and uncertain times, the pair were able to rise to the occasion and prove worthy winners of the ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Rookie of the Year award.

Michal & Dariusz came to ServiceMaster with previous experience of owning a commercial and domestic cleaning company. Michal has built himself from the ground up, beginning his career in the cleaning industry as a daily cleaner before becoming a supervisor. When he then began his own cleaning business, Michal was struck by how the industry was evolving. He says he witnessed the change in attitudes to cleaning due to the COVID pandemic as he saw more and more people recognise the importance of regularly cleaning and sanitising their premises. Michal and Dariusz knew they could do more, and set their sights on growing a bigger and better business. And although Michal and Dariusz knew the industry and the processes that came with it, they also knew they didn’t want to enter into the unknown alone, and wanted the support and backing of a well-known brand. Michal was already intimately familiar with the ServiceMaster Clean brand as a result of working within our network before for one of our franchises, so the pair knew that with the backing of the ServiceMaster Clean brand, they could grow a truly thriving business.

And they have done just that. Rookie of the Year is awarded to franchisees that are considered brand new to our network – meaning that they have been in business for less than two years. It recognises franchisees who have implemented the ServiceMaster systems to substantially grow their business. For Guy Strang, ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Brand Leader and Marketing Manager Victoria Tayler, Michal & Dariusz were the clear choice for the winners of this coveted award.

“I am delighted that Michal & Dariusz have won Rookie of the Year. Having previously owned a commercial Cleaning Company, they have fully embraced the ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Brand and our values and created a fantastic business that will go from strength to strength,” said Marketing Manager Victoria Tayler.

Not only does winning this award solidify the successes of Michal and Dariusz’s journey, but Michal says that winning Rookie of the Year is giving them a boost.

“Aside from making us feel good, [an award like Rookie of the Year] can also offer a great boost to business. An award brings credibility and opens doors to new opportunities. It can impress potential clients, boost sales, and improve employee engagement and loyalty.” Not only that, but Michal says that is proof that they have achieved their goals, and serves as a demonstration “that we take pride in what we do and that we do it well.” He says that he and Dariusz attribute their early success to “staying passionate and focused on [their] goals.”

So, it’s onwards and upwards for ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Warwick. This award has galvanised its owners to keep going above and beyond in providing their quality and professional premises cleaning services to each and every one of their clients.

And with over 60 years as industry-leading contract cleaning specialists, it’s no wonder that both public and private sector establishments nationwide trust ServiceMaster Clean to deliver a bespoke and professional service every time. For professional cleaning services tailored to you, in a range of environments including offices, GP and medical practices, schools, student accommodation and car showrooms, think ServiceMaster Clean.

If you are in Warwick and any of the surrounding areas and would like to enlist the help of industry professionals with decades of bespoke cleaning experience, get in touch with Michal and Dariusz by calling 01926 353095 or filling out a call-back form today for a free quote.

Siva Kugathas and his team at ServiceMaster AAA have won several awards at this year’s ServiceMaster Live! event.

ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services AAA owner Siva Kugathas has taken home multiple awards from this year’s annual ServiceMaster conference – ServiceMaster Live!

The conference, which took place this May, was a gathering of franchisees from across the ServiceMaster UK brand family and culminated in an awards ceremony at the end of the day. This saw franchisees and their teams recognised for their hard work in overall customer service, sales, marketing efforts, resilience in the face of hardships, charity and community work and more.

Siva is no stranger to awards, having won multiple growth and business awards since starting his journey with ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services back in 2017. Siva purchased ServiceMaster Clean Guildford 5 years ago and saw it as an ideal opportunity to take the established business to the next level. And he certainly has, winning a string of very notable awards including for Business Person of the Year and was one of the first-ever Great British Franchisee of the Year winners back in June 2021 as well as a win from a member of his team, Kinga Derenowska, who also recently won a Global Business Excellence Award. Siva has now added to this list of accolades the ServiceMaster Marion E Wade Award for Franchisee of the Year.

The most prestigious award presented at ServiceMaster Live, franchisee of the year is the pinnacle of achievement for a franchisee in ServiceMaster Brands UK. For Guy Strang, ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Brand Leader and Marketing Manager Victoria Tayler, Siva was the obvious choice for such a coveted award. He has grown his business by a substantial amount during his time as owner, both financially and literally, adding a large number of staff members to his brilliant team and 12 additional territories since 2017. Part of what makes Siva so effective in this regard is his ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both with customers and with his staff. Even as he was finding his feet when first taking over his business, Siva knew the importance of maintaining and improving relationships with the existing client base. As a result, he arranged face-to-face meetings with each customer which not only allowed him to introduce himself and put a name to a face with all of his brand-new customers. Then, having established a good foundation with the existing client base, Siva set out to improve the already great levels of satisfaction with the implementation of a monthly NPS as well as on-site customer feedback forms which allow him to see where he needs to improve. Siva understands that people are at the heart of any business and that consistent quality communication with these people, be they staff or customers, holds the key to a job well done for all.

“Wow, Siva has won several growth awards, a customer award, people awards, a marketing award and most prestigiously the Franchisee of the Year Award and I am not surprised at all,” says Victoria Tayler, ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Marketing Manager.

“Since I have known and worked with Siva, he has always worked incredibly hard to grow an outstanding commercial cleaning business, he 100% believes in his staff and they in turn 100% believe in him, this makes for an exceptional business, an exceptional team and exceptional customer service that deservedly goes from strength to strength and I am sure there is more to come.”

Siva himself says that he was “delighted and proud” to win multiple awards whilst surrounded by his team and peers at ServiceMaster Live. He would like to thank his team, to whom he attributes his success, and says he plans to “Increase [his] focus on growth by carrying out more marketing activities as well as increasing the brand presence within [his] region.”

We would like to thoroughly congratulate Siva on his award and wish him all the best for the future, and we look forward to seeing him grow even further, with no shortage of awards sure to come!

The owner of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East is celebrating having won the prestigious Award of Excellence at ServiceMaster Live!

‘ServiceMaster Live!’, which took place this May, was a gathering of franchisees from across the ServiceMaster Ltd. brand family. Franchisees from each network came together to learn from one another and celebrate each other’s successes in an awards ceremony at the end of the day.

This included the presentation of the coveted Award of Excellence, awarded to none other than Chris Blewitt of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East. This is given to a franchisee that has proven to exemplify the ServiceMaster tenet of the pursuit of excellence.

Chris has owned and managed his business for four years. He has acquired an excellent reputation among his clients for providing professional cleaning services during this time. This was initially across Durham and Teesside. However, he also developed this by expanding his territory and substantially growing his business by covering a much larger area early last year. As Chris says,

“We now cover the whole North East region.’’

Upon embarking on his journey, Chris’s focus was not only on growing his business but also on developing his workforce and creating more local jobs. Not only has he done this – as he now employs 124 people – but Chris also truly embodies the ServiceMaster ethos of going Above and Beyond by always taking time to provide help and support to other franchisees within the network.

As Victoria Tayler, ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services’ Marketing Manager says,

“Chris truly deserves this award. Since knowing and working with Chris, it has been clear that he prides himself on creating a first-class service for his clients and fully embracing the ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Brand. Chris has not only built a fantastic business providing exceptional service to his clients but also provides a great deal of support to the rest of the network and is always eager to help develop and progress the network as a whole.”

Chris says that receiving the Award of Excellence is especially humbling given the size and strength of the ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services network and that he felt honoured to be recognised amongst them at ServiceMaster Live!

“ServiceMaster Clean nationally has a lot of very well-run businesses. I am delighted that our business is considered to be performing at the highest level, in everything we do. It is a credit to the team we have and the tremendous dedication they show day in and day out.’’

“We strive to provide a truly professional cleaning service,’’ he says. “One our customers can rely on. We ensure that all aspects of the cleaning contract are carried out properly. This appeals to the type of customers we want to attract and will ensure our ambitious growth plans should be achieved.”

With ambitious plans and the will to achieve them, it is no wonder and no doubt that the future looks bright for Chris and ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services North East. We would once again like to congratulate Chris and thank him and his team for all their hard work during the difficult COVID-19 pandemic.

If you are not totally happy with your current commercial cleaning provider, get in touch with Chris and his team today to see how they can help you keep your building clean.

For the best results during your office spring clean, be sure to follow our office spring cleaning checklist

For most, spring has become synonymous with cleaning. Spring cleaning is now a yearly ritual in our homes that gives us the time and space to declutter and tidy everything that has fallen into disarray over the past few months. But what about your office?

Your workspace is just as important to keep clean and tidy as your home. In fact, studies have found that keeping a clean work environment can have an impact on employees’morale, productivity, and mood reducing both tiredness and procrastination. However, in most offices, carrying out a thorough spring clean amidst looming deadlines, meetings, presentations, and more meetings, is not a top priority.

But not to worry, there are ways to simplify the process and make spring cleaning your office free of hassle. Here are some simple steps you can take to make spring cleaning your office easy.

1. Clean your desk

The best approach to cleaning rooms in your office is to start at the top and work your way down. Therefore, begin with your desk. This primary workstation is where you spend most of your time and can become crowded easily, piling up with papers, stationery, and electronics.

This means it also can be a hotspot for germs, dust, and general unpleasantness. Therefore, decluttering and cleaning your desk is highly likely to benefit your mental and physical wellbeing.

Make sure to also re-organise your desk drawers. Be ruthless, get rid of anything you do not need, and make sure that you have a proper filing system for everything that you do. Once your desk space is clear and organised, you can clean it by wiping the surface down with a clean, damp microfiber rag, and replacing items one by one.

As you put the desk back together, think carefully about what needs to be kept close at hand and what can be stored or filed. Items you use frequently should maintain their space on the desktop, while other, lesser-used items can be stored or filed away. When disposing of paper materials, the best course of action is to be sure to shred sensitive documents and recycle the scraps.

2. Clean monitor and computer equipment

Especially if you spend all day at your desk – including your lunch break – your keyboard and other computer equipment are probably not the cleanest. To clean your computer equipment thoroughly:

Disconnect your keyboard from your computer or monitor. If you are using a laptop, then make sure it is turned off before you start.
Flip your keyboard or laptop upside down to get any initial crumbs, hair, and other debris out of the hard to reach areas.
Use the duster appliance on your vacuum cleaner or a can of compressed air to get rid of any remaining debris that is still lingering in between the keys.
Take an antibacterial wipe, cotton bud, or a piece of kitchen roll and dip it into some antiseptic disinfectant (which you can purchase at most supermarkets) and rub it between and along the keys of your keyboard. Make sure to use a light touch, as getting your electronics too damp is dangerous.
Use a microfiber cloth to clean up the remaining disinfectant and polish the keys.

Taking the computer clean-up one step further, you may also want to tidy your files on yourdevice, by decluttering your desktop and getting rid of old and unnecessary files. For extra security, it is also a good idea to back up your files to either cloud or external hard drive and change your passwords on important applications and devices.

3. Clean kitchens, break rooms and bathrooms

Perhaps even more so than any other office space, kitchens, break rooms, and bathrooms must be kept in a clean and sanitary state. Particularly in communal buildings like offices, these spaces can be especially prone to the spread of harmful bacteria. So, be sure to clean equipment within them such as microwaves, coffee machines, kettles and fridges thoroughly, and wipe down any surfaces and appliances like sinks with a strong antibacterial cleaner. For a proper spring clean, you can also sort through cupboards and drawers in kitchens and break rooms and dispose of old or expired food and drinks, replacing the essentials.

4. Clean your floors

Cleaning both your carpet and hardwood floors can be difficult without the proper equipment but can go a long way toward making your office look and feel fresh. Luckily, we have written a whole blog post on the best way to clean different types of flooring in your office.

And if all of this feels like too much work to juggle alongside your regular workload, do not hesitate to get in touch with us by finding your nearest ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services business. With the proper tools for thorough office cleaning and over 60 years of experience as an industry leader in the commercial cleaning sector, ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services can provide your office with the care it deserves, at a time that suits you.

Kinga Derenowska of ServiceMaster AAA has been awarded ‘Outstanding Employee’ at the 2022 Global Business Excellence Awards.

We are proud to congratulate Kinga Derenowska from ServiceMaster AAA on receiving the prestigious award for ‘Outstanding Employee’ at the recent Global Business Excellence Awards. The awards take place four times a year and are designed to commemorate feats of business excellence across the public, private, and charity sectors. To be awarded a Global Business Excellence Award, candidates have to prove that they are “working smarter than their competitors to create a business edge.” The ‘Outstanding Employee’ award is then awarded by virtue of a candidate’s “great potential and … significant impact on [their] business or its workforce.”

The Global Business Excellence Awards are then judged by a large panel of independent expert judges who select winners according to strict criteria for each category and sector. This includes considering a candidate’s financial results, innovation, customer, employee, investor and community benefits. Speaking of Kinga and ServiceMaster AAA following her win, the chairman of the judges said:

“Congratulations to Ms Kinga Derenowska for being an outstanding role model employee and making a significant contribution to the success of commercial cleaning company ServiceMaster AAA. On joining the company in 2017, she displayed impressive leadership qualities and within a year she won the company’s employee of the year award. When working from home, there was limited access to paperwork for the payroll, but she persevered and worked long hours to ensure staff were paid. Kinga is a star employee with a brilliant future ahead of her.”

Winning a Global Business Excellence Award is a very high-profile accolade for ServiceMaster AAA, and is a further testament to our professionalism, innovation, and standard of excellence, as the newest in a long line of notable accolades awarded to ServiceMaster AAA, including a win at the SME National Business Awards ‘Business Person of the Year for business owner Siva Kugathas. Once again, the ServiceMaster AAA team have proven that they are an exceptional team who are brilliant at what they do. We would like to wish Kinga and the ServiceMaster AAA team every continued success and would like to once again take this opportunity to congratulate Kinga on her well-deserved win.

ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Manchester is celebrating 30 years of top-quality commercial contract cleaning services.

30 years ago, Martin and Sarah Steinman purchased the ServiceMaster Contract Services franchise to provide cleaning services in the city centre and south areas of Manchester.

The ServiceMaster brand was already recognised and highly respected as a leading provider of cleaning related services throughout the USA. The brand has also now become well-established in the UK, which the Manchester team say has supported them and given them the confidence to succeed.

The company has, as a result, seen a lot of change in its three decades of business. When the Manchester business began in 1992 there was no minimum wage, no 28 days holiday entitlement nor was there a requirement for ISO accreditations. But right from the start, the company successfully grew, and rapidly won on four occasions the coveted “Award of Excellence” as the top ServiceMaster franchisee within the ServiceMaster brand in the UK. Additionally, the owners were quickly awarded the Franchisee of the Year Award by the Daily Express and HSBC bank.

In 2006 the company purchased the business license to operate in North Manchester which then enabled the company to concentrate and successfully provide services throughout the Greater Manchester area. ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services strives to provide a high quality of service. The professional and high-quality working standards, customer service and commitment to Manchester’s staff have been in place since the company began, have never wavered. Even in difficult periods like the financial recession in 2008, and more recently, throughout the COVID19 pandemic – ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Manchester’s staff and customers can always be assured of their support, no matter what.

The company has successfully grown over the years, has ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations. ServiceMaster Manchester has BICS certification, Safe Contractor and are proud supporters of the Real Living Wage.

Above all the success of ServiceMaster Manchester, what is outstanding has been the development of its people. The business remains a family concern run daily by CJ Commercial Director and Jason Hanrahan Operations Director. The whole team have a wealth of experience in sales, operations, admin, finance and HR. Not forgetting the many cleaning operatives who have supported ServiceMaster, many of which have over 10 years of service with the company.  Despite the importance of the cleaning industry becoming more widely acknowledged following the COVID19 pandemic, for such a feat to be achieved within the cleaning industry for as long as 3 decades is exceptional.

And the Contract Services Manchester client base speaks for itself. ServiceMaster Manchester provides and delivers cleaning services to over 200 sites throughout Manchester – including multiple well-known commercial businesses and schools..

CJ and the team at ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Manchester say they “look to the future with excitement, we have the experience, we have the knowledge, we have the success, and in 2022 we have the opportunity. We look forward to the future and we enjoy the present – what a great position to be in!”

If you are looking for professional and regular commercial cleaning experience from an established and experienced industry professional, get in touch with ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Manchester today.

Siva Kugathas, owner of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services AAA has completed the 200 mile challenge for Run for the Trees for The National Forest

Run for the Trees certificate

Siva completed the challenge of running 200 miles in February and was also joined by, Roxana Nae who also ran 200 miles, Joshua Damm who ran 50 miles, Kinga Derenowska who ran 50 miles and Sathya Thuraisamy who also ran 50 miles.

Run for the Trees is a fun, personal challenge event for runners and walkers alike, to keep you active as the novelty of the new year begins to wear off. this challenge can be completed anywhere and leaves a positive footprint on the planet as the more miles we cover, the more trees will be planted.

The more miles run (or walked), the more trees planted, you can find out more about Run for the trees on their webpage.

They also held a team event on 18th Feb 2022 with 18 Managers and 6 children (who were family members). They were planning on walking around 100 miles on the day as team. However; storm Eunice had other ideas and for safety reasons the walk had to be cut short and the team walked just 12 miles.

Siva and his team often take part in charity events so we are sure we will be seeing more of their exploits soon.

If you are in the Guildford, Bracknell, Thames Valley, East Kent, Luton, Watford, Colchester, Ipswich, Humberside, Lincolnshire, Doncaster or York areas and are looking for a commercial cleaning company that goes Above and Beyond, get in touch with Siva today.
